A Heartfelt Reunion & Intimate Wedding
Gerda & Willie:
In early spring, I had the privilege of photographing one of the most touching weddings I’ve ever been a part of. Gerda and Willie, after being divorced for ten years, found their way back to each other and decided to say "I do" again in an intimate ceremony at their stunning home nestled against a beautiful mountain backdrop.
I could feel the emotion from the moment I arrived. Their three sons, especially their youngest, were overjoyed to see their parents reunite. Despite only having met them once prior to the day, my eyes were filled with tears of joy for them. You could feel the love, excitement, and deep connection throughout the day.
Gerda, breaking from tradition, wore a striking blue dress. Initially, she hadn’t planned to buy a dress, but her best friend convinced her to, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. It added such a personal touch to the day, reflecting her unique style and story.
The ceremony took place in their garden, surrounded by their closest friends and family. A close friend officiated, leading a heartfelt service that had all of us—including myself—in tears. The joy on everyone’s faces was overwhelming, and I was honored to capture those intimate moments.
The attention to detail was exquisite. The couple chose a harvest-style meal catered by a local chef, and they even served mini Magnums before the ceremony, which I thought was such a cute idea. It was the perfect blend of elegance and warmth, making everyone feel like part of something incredibly special.
Gerda and Willie’s wedding was not just a reunion but a testament to enduring love. Being able to document this day through my lens was an experience I’ll never forget. It reminded me of why I’m so passionate about documentary-style wedding photography—capturing the real, raw, and unposed moments that tell the true story of love.
If you’re planning a wedding in North Central Florida and are looking for a photographer who can capture your love story authentically, I’d love to be a part of your journey.
